Retirement for Doug Parkins, Paul Birch and Bob Lafonde
All three will be on Pension effective January 1, 2012.  Please join us for a Pizza Lunch on Wednesday, November 23rd at 1130-1330 hrs. to wish them all good luck in their future endeavors and thank them for many many years of dedicated service.
 
Oct 28   Bargaining Demands Tabled
As many of you are aware, the open period of our contract is upon us and therefore on September 1, 2011 we informed the Company of our intent to negotiate and improve the Collective Agreement. On October 20, 2011 we met with representatives of the Company to exchange the proposals to begin the process.
 
Oct 3   Brother Frank Renaud Retirement
Frank, our friend and co-worker is retiring from CP effective November 1st, 2011.
His last day to work was a few weeks ago. Please join us in a Pizza Lunch (1200 – 1400 hrs.) at the London Yard Office to give a warm send off for all his hard work and dedication to CP since April 1975

The members of TCRC Division 528 are proud to announce the nomination of brother James Duffy to the TCRC Youth Committee.  Brother Duffy was selected at the September monthly meeting by the membership to be nominated, and the division would like to thank both brothers Duffy and brother Matt Paliwoda for their interest and participation!

Sept 16   Monthly Meeting Location Moved Please Read
Your Division 528 monthly meeting will now be held at the new Teamsters Canada Hall located at 1790 Dundas Street, Unit 22 in London
 
Sept 15   Teamsters Canada Youth Committee
Following the resolution creating a national Youth Committee, adopted on June 9, 2009 during the 10th convention of Teamsters Canada, Brother Dallas Lang was selected as the TCRC representative and has served on the committee since the first meeting in September 2009. As Brother Lang will soon reach the end of his term the TCRC is looking for another representative who is aged 35 years or less, motivated, dynamic and available to sit on this committee which meet three times a year.
 
Jul 29   Monthly Mileage Agreement Cancelled
Please be advised that effective immediately the Over the Miles Agreement signed May 13th 2011 is cancelled in London and Hamilton. As stated in item 1.2 of the agreement "Provision and conditions in existence at the time of cancellation will be continued until the end of the last monthly mileage period in effect"

Funeral Arrangements for Jamie Rutherford
Jamie was diagnosed with Amyloidosis which was only the second case in Calgary ever. Jamie was told he would have 5 years left and passed away 2 weeks later in their home in Okotoks on April 2. His wife Romy and family have made funeral arrangements for Saturday, June 4th, 1100 a.m. at St. Judes Church. It's located at Fanshawe Park Rd. SW and Adelaide St. North.

Jeff Johnston Retirement
JEFF JOHNSTON, our friend and co-worker is retiring from CP on August 1st, 2011 after 35 years of dedicated service. His last day to work will be this Tuesday, May 24th.  Please join us for a Pizza lunch with Jeff (1130–1330 hrs.) at the London Yard Office to give Jeff a warm send off for all his hard work.

 
May 19   Weekly Placement Bid Card Confirmation
Please be reminded, when faxing a new weekly bid card it is imperative to keep the transmission confirmation report indicating the fax has been successfully received by the intended recipient. As information, the transmission confirmation report will be used to verify bid submission should a discrepancy arises.  CMC.
 
May 13   Mileage agreement between CPR and TCRC 
Applicable terminals - London, Toronto, Hamilton : On a voluntary basis, employees may work in excess of their maximum monthly mileage, without penalty in the subsequent month(s).
 
Apr 29   Delegate ballot mailout update
We have printed new, corrected ballots, envelopes and election materials.  Dark blue coloured ink will be used to differentiate the corrected election materials from the original materials which were printed using only black ink.

On April 28th Canada will observe the National day of Mourning which commemorates workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace hazards and incidents.

The IBT Delegate ballot mail out last Friday April 8, 2011 had a critical error with the ballot which was not discovered until today and as a result is void.

Mar 7   Union Dues to Increase in March 
At the TCRC second quadrennial convention the delegates approved a change in the TCRC bylaws and created a fund which will be used for education and training.
